Pinwheel Square
7 Inch, nice and easy, nothing fancy

Materials:
What You will need:

I hook
Worsted weight yarn, any color

Makes 7" square
I tend to crochet loosly, so it may be smaller for you. 

Ch 4, join
Round 1 - ch 3, 11 dc in loop, join to 3rd ch of beg ch 3 (12 dc)

Round 2 - ch 4 (counds as 1st dc ch 1), dc ch 1 in each dc around, join with a sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 4(12 ch 1 spaces)

Round 3 - ch 3, dc in same as joining, ch 2, (2 dc, ch 2) in each dc around, join to the 3rd ch of beg ch 3(12 2 dc groups and 12 ch 2 spaces)

Round 4 - ch 3, 1 dc between joining and next dc, dc in next dc, ch 2, (dc in next dc, dc between two dc on previous round, dc in next dc, ch 2) in each 2 dc group around, join with to the 3rd ch of beg ch 3 (12 3dc groups and 12 ch 2 spaces)

Round 5 - ch 2, hdc in next 2 dc, *5 dc in next sp, hdc in next 3 dc, 2 sc in next sp, sc in next 3 dc, 2 sc in next sp, hdc in next 3 dc*, repeat from * to * 2 more times, 5 dc in next sp, 3 hdc in next 3 dc, 2 sc in next sp, sc in next 3 dc, 2 sc in next sp, join to the 2nd ch of beg ch 2.

Round 6 - ch 3, dc in next 4 st, *5dc in next st, dc in next 17 dc* repeat * to * 2 more times, 5 dc in next st, dc in next 12 st, join to 3rd ch of beg ch 3.

(NOTE: round 7 can be used to get the desired size. sub ch3/dc, or ch1/sc instead of ch2/hdc for desired size)
Round 7 - ch 2 (in bk lp only) hdc in next 5 dc, *5 hdc in next dc, hdc in next 21 dc*, repeat * to * 2 more times, hdc in next 15 dc, join to 2nd ch of beg ch 2. Finish off.
