Spider Square
8 inch square
Fun halloween spider, looks nice without legs, but hey, we all love halloween spiders, right? 
Materials:
I Hook
Worsted Weight Yarn - Black, Yellow, and Orange.

 

With black, ch 4, join to form a loop
Round 1: Ch 1, (sc in loop, trc in loop) 8 times, join to Back Loop of the 1st sc.

Round 2: (Ch 4, sl st in next sc) 8 times, join to 1st sc of round 1, finish off.

Round 3: Join orange in any loop, ch 1, 5 sc in each loop around, join to 1st sc.

Round 4: Ch 3, dc in next 3 sc, 2 dc in next sc, (dc in next 4 sc, 2 dc in next sc) around, join to 3rd ch of beg ch 3.

Round 5: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, (ch 3, skip dc, sc in next dc) around, ch 3, join to 1st sc. Finish off orange.

Round 6: Join black with an sc to any loop, [*(4 trc, ch 3, 4 trc in next loop) sc in next loop, 2 sc in next loop, 3 sc in next loop, 2 sc in next loop*, sc in next loop] 3 times and * to * once more, join to 1st sc. Finish off black.

Round 7: Join orange to any corner (ch 3), ch 1, *[3 sc in corner, sc in each st across] 4 times, finish off orange.

Round 8: Join yellow to middle sc of 3 sc corner, ch 1, do round 7 from *, finish off yellow.

Round 9: Join orange to middle sc of 3 sc corner, ch 1, do round 7 from *, finish off orange.

Round 10: Join black to any middle sc of 3 sc corner, ch 2, 2 hdc in corner, (*hdc in each st across*, 3 hdc in corner) 3 times and * to * once more, join to 2nd ch of beg ch 2. Finish off.



Spider legs: Join black to loop base of center, ch 8, sl st to any black st in round 6, finish off. Do this for each leg. There are LOTS of ends to weave, ug, but it's a neat square, don't you think?
