Scary Granny

Fun with Halloween colors and the basic grany square. |
Materials:
I Hook
Worsted Weight Yarn in Black, Orange, Purple, and Gold

Round 1,2,3 - work a traditional granny square changing colors each round. Finish off at end of orange round.
Round 4: Join black in any corner, *ch 1, (3 sc in corner, sc in each dc and sp across) 4 times, join to first sc, finish off.
Round 5: Join purple to middle sc of any corner, repeat round 4 from *, finish off purple
Round 6: Join black to middle sc of any corner, repeat round 4 from *, finish off black
Round 7: Join orange to any middle sc of any corner, (ch 3, dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in corner sc, [*(ch 1, skip next sc, dc in next sc) across, ch 1*, (2dc, ch 3, 2dc) in middle sc of corner ] 3 times, and * to * once more, join to 3rd ch of beg ch 3. Finish off orange.
Round 8: Join black to any corner, (ch 2, hdc, ch 3, 2hdc) in corner sp, [*hdc in each dc and sp across*, (2 hdc, ch 3, 2hdc) in corner sp] 3 times and * to * once more, join to 2nd ch of beg ch 2. Finish off black.
