Four Angels Square

12 inch square. This starts with a G Hook to make the 4 angels around, then switches to an I hook. Looks good with any colors. |
Materials:
G Hook
I Hook
White worsted weight, 2 other colors. I used red glitter (silver) and Christmas glitter (silver)
Special stitch:
Popcorn: 5 dc in specified st, drop loop, insert hook in 1st dc and pull dropped loop thru.
Beg Popcorn: ch 3, 4 dc in specified st, drop loop, insert hook in 3rd ch of beg ch 3 and pull dropped loop thru.

Using the G hook, With white, ch 4, join to form a loop
Round 1: Ch 4 (dc, ch 1) 7 times, join to 3rd ch of beg ch 4. (8 dc and 8 ch 1 sp)
Round 2: Sl st in next ch 1 sp, beg popcorn in sp, ch 4, sc in next sp, ch 4, (popcorn in next sp, ch 4, sc in next sp, ch 4) 3 times, join to top of beg popcorn.
Round 3: Ch 3, 6 dc in popcorn, sc in next sc, (7 dc in next popcorn, sc in next sc) 3 times, join to 3rd ch of beg ch 3.
Round 4: Sl st in next 2 dc, ch 3, 2dc in same dc, 3 dc in next dc, 3 dc in next dc, ch 4, (skip 2 dc and next sc and next 2 dc, 3 dc in next 3 dc, ch 4) 3 times, join to 3rd ch of beg ch 3. Finish off. (4 ch 4 sp)
Do the rest of this square using the I Hook.
Round 5: Join red to any ch 4 loop, ch 3, 2 dc in same loop, dc in next 4 dc, (2dc, ch 3, 2dc) in next dc, [dc in next 4 dc, 3 dc in ch 4 sp, dc in next 4 dc, (2dc, ch 3, 2dc) in next dc] 3 times, dc in next 4 dc. Join to 3rd ch of beg ch 3. Finish off Red.
Round 6: Join Christmas colors to any corner, (ch 3, dc, ch 3, 2dc) in corner, [* dc in each dc across to corner,* (2dc, ch 3, 2dc) in corner] 3 times and * to * once more, join to 3rd ch of beg ch 3.
Round 7: Sl st to corner, ch 1 [(sc, ch 5, sc) in corner, ch 5, (skip next dc, sc in next dc, ch 5) across] 4 times, join to 1st sc.
Round 8: Sl st in corner loop, ch 1 [(sc, ch 5, sc) in corner, ch 5, (sc in next loop, ch 5) across] 4 times, join to 1st sc.
Round 9: Sl st in corner loop, (ch 3, 2dc, ch 3, 3dc) in corner, [*2 dc in each loop across*, (3dc, ch 3, 3dc) in corner loop] 3 times and * to * once more, join to 3rd ch of beg ch 3. Finish off Christmas colors.
Round 10: Join red to any corner, (ch 3, 2dc, ch 3, 3dc) in corner, [*dc in each dc to corner*, (3dc, ch 3, 3dc) in corner] 3 times and * to * once more, join to 3rd ch of beg ch 3.
Round 11: Ch 1, sc in each st to corner, [5 sc in corner, sc in each dc across] 4 times, join to 1st sc. Finish off Red. Weave in the ends.
