Granny Bars

8 inch square starting with a traditional granny square. |
Materials:
H Hook
Worsted Weight Yarn
|
|
Do traditional granny for 3 rounds
Round 4: Sl st to corner, ch 1, [(sc, ch5, sc) in corner, (ch 5, sc in next ch 1 sp) 2 times, ch 5] 4 times, join to 1st sc.
Round 5: Sl st in next loop, ch 1 [5 sc in corner loop, 3 sc in each loop across] 4 times, join to 1st sc.
Round 6: Sl sto to 3rd sc of corner, (ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2dc) in same sc, [*dc in each sc across*, (2dc, ch 2, 2dc) in corner sc] 3 times and * to * once more, join to 3rd ch of beg ch 3.
Round 7: Sl st to corner, ch 4, (dc, ch 1) 3 times in corner, [*(skip next dc, dc in next dc, ch 1) 8 times*, (dc, ch 1) 4 times in corner] 3 times and * to * once more, join to 3rd ch of beg ch 3.
Round 8: Ch 3, dc in each sp and dc across, and (3dc, ch 3, 3dc) in each corner (2nd sp of corner). Finish off.
12 inch example using a Fiesta from Red Heart and Hunter Green:
I repeated rounds 6 and 7 until I got the desired size.
