Darth Vader Hot Sauce Bottle Cover
This is a silly idea I had one day while working on Marlo's Hot Sauce Sam. I am a big Star Wars fan, so I hope a few of you out there like me will find this fun!

I think I'll do R2-D2 next!!! 

Materials:
G hook
Black Worsted weight yarn
Small amounts of red and gray
Black pipe cleaners
Floral wire that is easy to bend. A twisty tie would work as well.
2.5 oz hot sauce bottle

BLO: Back Loop Only
sc dec: insert hook in 1st sc, yo and pull up a loop, insert hook in next sc, yo and pull up a loop, yo and pull thru 2 loops on hook. Takes 2 sc.

 
Consists of 4 pieces, helmet, cape, body, and of course a lightsaber
Helmet
Round 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join to 1st sc
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around (12). Join to 1st sc.
Round 3: Ch 1, sc in same sc as joining, 2 sc in next sc, (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around (18) join to 1st sc.
Round 4: ch 1, sc in each sc around, (18) join to 1st sc
Round 5: ch 1, sc in each sc around, (18) join to 1st sc
Round 6: ch 1, sc in each sc around, (18) join to 1st sc
Round 7: ch 1, sc in next 6 sc, sc in BLO of next 12 sc (18) join to 1st sc.
Round 8: Ch 1, (sc dec over next 2 sc, sc in next sc) around, (12) join to 1st sc.
Round 9: Ch 1, (sc dec over next 2 st, sc in next 2 st) twice, sc in last 4 st (10) join to 1st sc.
Round 10: Ch 1, sc in each sc around (10), join to 1st sc, finish off
Join black to first open loop from round 7.
Row 1: Ch 1, sc in each free loop (12), ch 1, turn
Row 2 and Row 3: 2 sc in 1st sc, sc in each sc across to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 1, turn. Finish off.

Body
Ch 8, join to form a loop
Round 1: Ch 1, 12 sc in loop, join to 1st sc.
Round 2: Ch 1, (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around (18), join to 1st sc in BLO.
Round 3: In BLO for this round, ch 1, sc in each sc around (18) join to 1st sc thru both loops.
Round 4: Ch 1, sc in next 5 sc, (ch 1, skip next sc, sc in next sc) 4 times, sc in next 5 sc join to 1st sc.
Round 5: Repeat round 4
Round 6: Repeat round 4
Round 7: ch 1, sc in each sc around (18). Join to 1st sc.
Round 8: Repeat round 7
Round 9: Repeat round 7
Round 10: Repeat round 7
Round 11: Repeat round 7, finish off

Detail work on the body
Follow the close up of the body. Sew details on the front using the spaces from rounds 4 5 and 6.


Cape
Row 1: Ch 9, sc in 2nd ch and in each ch across (8), ch 1, turn
Row 2: Sc in each sc across (8), ch 1, turn
Row 3: 2 sc in 1st sc, sc in each sc across to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 1, turn
Row 4: repeat row 2
Row 5: repeat row 3
Row 6: repeat row 2
Row 7: repeat row 2
Row 8: repeat row 3
Row 9: repeat row 2
Row 10: repeat row 2
Row 11: repeat row 3
Row 12: repeat row 2, DO NOT TURN, working around the cape, sc in each row up the side, sc in each ch across the top, and sc in each row down the other side. Finish off.
Attach cape to neck of body

Belt
Leaving tails on each end Ch 25 and finish off. Tie some gray yarn around the center to make a buckle. Using tails, tie around the body under the detail work, weave in tails on inside of the body.

Lightsaber
With red, ch 12, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Finish off. Insert wire into red double chain, leaving a tail about 1 ½ inches long. Wrap the black pipe cleaner around the base of the lightsaber, wrapping several times at the start and at the end of the handle. See picture. Attach belt with remains of the pipe cleaner or sew into place
