BIG HUG afghan for Kathy
In memory of my dear, sweet, grandmother, I called her MeeMom, the ladies of the
BIG HUG
group made and sent me squares to assemble a lovely Comfyghan for my mother.
This page was done to thank all the lovely ladies who helped in making this afghan.
All of these patterns are my designs, and they made a beautiful and colorful afghan
so my mother can remember her mother loved her.
Each square is 12 inches. Assembly included a single round of white in either DC or SC
on each square.
I did a "zig zag" border. I made a 5 pannels of 3 squares, then joined those pannels
using the following...
Holding two squares with wrong sides together, Sq1 is facing you, Sq2 is facing away from you, join white
with an sc to the corner of Sq1, ch 1, work sc in next sc of Sq2, (ch 1, skip sc on Sq1, sc in next sc on Sq1,
ch 1, skip next sc on Sq2, sc in next sc of Sq2) until you get to the corner, work in last sc in the corner of
Sq2. Finish off. Holding these two squres facing you, hold the next square with wrong side of Sq2 and work joining
again. Work the same way with the pannels, holding the wrong sides together.
Border is done with 3 DC in the corners and DC across to the corners.
